Previous News

Club Closure

Once again due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions that club has had to close.

It was wonderful to be back to training for two short months so it a great shame that we have needed to close once again. Due to the length of the current lockdown, and our usual closure for the Christmas break we have made the decision to remain closed, with the hopes to re-open in the new year.

Full details of our planned return will be updated closer to the time once we have them ready so please keep an eye out here and on our facebook page for any updates.

In the meantime we wish everyone to take care, stay safe and please have an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

Club Re-Opening

We are very pleased to annouce that the club will be opening again in our new location and at our new training time.

We have relocated to the Thatcham Memorial hall on the bath road, this hall should give us better space in order to maintain appropriate social distancing whilst we continue to train, we also have assurance of the hall being fully cleaned before and after each use.

Our new training day will now be Friday evenings, and to begin with we are running for one hour only. 19:30 - 20:30 for all members. We will be closely monitoring our numbers and will increase to our separate junior/adult classes once it is feasible to do so.

Our return to training will not be quite the same experience it was prior to COVID-19, so please familiarise yourselves with the return to training guidance, which can be found Here

We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our current members. Any new members interested in starting karate please contact us so that we can arrange a trial session.

Half Term Week

Half term coincides with Halloween and as usual there will be no tricks but there will indeed be treats to be found in the dojo on Monday 28th October for all who come along and train well. See you all there.

Grading Opportunity

There will be a club grading opportunity on 22nd of July at the Crowthorne Club, Edgebarrow Sports Centre. Please see the association news page for full details: Here

Training in the Hot Weather

With the weather warming up it is important to take care to remain hydrated when training so please bring extra water with you to training sessions when the weather is hot. We are advantageous that the dojo is air-conditioned so training during the summer months need not meet any disruptions.

Summer Closure

An important note for all, the club will be closed for the Month of August. The last training session before the summer break will be 24th July (times as normal) and we will open again on 4th September.

Other clubs within the association will remain open over the summer, so please do try to get out and train at other clubs when you can to keep your karate sharp. Check out news from the association for details.
